All I ever wanted to be was a "Mum” and a “homemaker”. Motherhood has been the most wonderful gift, This small business was inspired by my three children and my vision for a cosy home by the sea. As my children are now growing up and one has flown the nest, the motherhood journey and my experiences have led me down a new path into birth work. Alongside my knitting and crafting, I also work as a birth and postnatal doula, supporting families during such a special and transformative time.

I have always had a passion for crafting and interiors. I learnt to knit at the age of eight, with my beloved Granny, spending time together knitting simple squares and scarves. I was always colouring, drawing or creating something.

When my children were babies, “little mole” was born. I started creating baby knitwear and personalised keepsakes, as I loved to receive a personalised gift or hand knitted item when they were born.

As a stay at home mum, I put my heart and soul into creating a warm, calm, comfortable and nurturing home by the coast for me and my family. I have always loved interiors and when I was a young girl, I would always be rearranging my bedroom, carefully styling my collection of keepsakes and treasures. “Rustic and Coast” was born from my love of creating, interiors, nature and living by the sea.

As “little mole” evolved, I began knitting for Mums too and “Mama Mole” was born. Some pieces were designed to coordinate beautifully with my baby knits. Each piece is either made to order or a one of a kind creation.

All of my knitwear is lovingly crafted from a luxurious blend of merino, cashmere and silk, a super chunky 100% pure merino wool or recycled organic cotton. These natural fibres are incredibly soft and kind to delicate skin, while also being breathable, sustainable, made to last and super comfortable.

Knitting and crafting is so therapeutic and allows me to focus on the present moment. It helps me switch off from my doula practice and brings me a lot of joy.
